The TONEMONSTER SEB Series preamps are a cost-effective solution for any instrument equipped with passive magnetic pickups. With a +/- 12dB range for either two (treble/bass) or three (treble/middle/bass) bands of equalization, they are pre wired and ready to install. Best of all they will bring your passive pickups to life! Features include brass shaft potentiometers and a balance potentiometer with a NO SOLDER terminal block for easy pickup connection (neck~shared ground~bridge). For single pickup or pickup selector switch applications simply remove the balance potentiometer.
The SEB Series also features a gain trim potentiometer mounted right on the circuit board (small blue cube) so you can increase or decrease the incoming signal based on the pickup(s) being used. SEB PA+ models feature the PPB v.1 passive/active volume upgrade with a passive tone control. The SEB MT models feature a mids toggle for 250Hz, 500Hz and 800Hz frequencies.
The circuit board, manufactured using Surface Mount Technology (SMT), is covered in epoxy to prevent damage and secure the wiring. Top quality components and meticulous soldering ensures noise free performance. The plastic case (45 X 25 mm) includes an adhesive pad for secure mounting. Powered by a 9V alkaline battery (not included) the circuit can handle up to 18V (2-9V in series) for increased headroom. We offer DIY power upgrades including the BAT-1 (18V) or BAT-2 (9 or 18V switchable).
