THE ORIGINAL CIGAR BOX AMP KIT



It started with an old cigar box, leftover speaker and a simple 9V powered amplifier circuit. Our Original Cigar Box Guitar Amp started what would become a cottage industry of worldwide mini amp builders. Not satisfied with a simple volume control only design, we took the DIY (Do It Yourself) mini amp to next level with our SD-2WH and SD-MAH3 models. Both are complete solderless solutions that can be mounted in a cigar box, custom enclosure or anything else you can dream up. With features such as a variable gain control, analog style overdrive (clean/rock/metal) and even a tone expander circuit, they will give your box a voice all its own. You provide a suitable enclosure, 3-6" 8 ohm 2-5 watt speaker and a 9V battery for a rocking little amp that you put together in about an hour with basic hand tools.

    

We offer two (2) guitar amp harness models to choose from - the "top dawg" SD-MAH3 with 5 watts of power, selectable overdrive and a tone expander circuit or the the entry level SD-2W with 2 watts and a gain control. Complete kits with a high quality speaker and all the necessary hardware are also available. We will even supply a premium cigar box and cut the speaker opening to make your build experience as painless as possible.

Not to be confused with those little 1 watt or less mini amps with the big "brand names", these are serious little TONE MONSTERs for personal practice, low level jamming or home recording. They even include headphone/ear bud jacks for a complete sonic experience.
